I'm a 24 year old girl, living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my highschool sweetheart. I'm a first year college student and on the the path toward becoming a psychologist. Studying psychology and one day earning a Ph.D. has been my dream since I was about sixteen, but if something happens and it doesn't work out or I decide I just don't like it, then I've definitely decided that my backup plan is to be a nail tech; who knows - that might actually end up becoming my main goal.
I only recently stumbled upon this super amazeballs magical land of glitters, cremes, and jellies via a cozy little corner of Reddit called Random Acts of Polish. That's the place where I fell so far down this polish addicted rabbit hole, there's definitely no turning back now. I will admit that I'm still in the noob levels of nail art, just as I am with blogging. I'm just so in love with all things polish and I wanted to share my journey through this lacquered land with the world, from novice to expert.
Here's the part where I just list off a bunch of random 'me' facts:
- I'm like crazy in love with the band Tool, they're absolutely my most favorite thing to feed my ears. I've even got a couple of tattoos of some excerpts of their lyrics... Yep - I'm that kind of fan.
- I chose the name Faaip de Polish to give a little nod to all the Tool fans out there. Faaip de Oiad is the name of a Tool "song" and it means "Voice of God" in the Enochian language.
- I have a little kitteh mow, who's the opposite of little in every way. His name is Lucid and he's the best cat that's ever happened to me.
- I'm not only addicted to nail polish - I'm also terribly stuck on Monster energy drinks. A friend got me started and I just kept on goin'.
- I'm a metal-head, through and through. I was raised by a couple of metal-heads who thrived in the 80's butt-rock, hair band era who are still moshing to Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera to this day.
- My favorite colors are orange, yellow, pink, and lime green because I'm too indecisive to pick just one.
- My very first venture into nail art was with water marbling. While I wouldn't say I'm good at it, I do enjoy it a lot.
- I'm a recovered nail biter. I picked up the habit at a very young age, from my dad. I stopped gnawing at my poor tips when I was about 20.
Well folks, I really hope you enjoyed learning a bit about me and I hope you'll stay tuned here at Faaip de Polish and follow me along my lacquered up path.
Until next time,
prettylittlebigle out.
